Third Thursday Flyer

Once again the Downtown Business Association is hosting fall's Third Thursday event on Thursday, October 16. There are a lot of activities for the whole family to enjoy, food, music and vendors. The event is in Central Park along Mill Creek and Sister City Gardens. Check out the flyer for event activities. Come join the fun this fall!

Haunted House

Saturday, October 18 at 6 AM

The 28th annual Kern Wheelmen Spooktacular Century is on Saturday, October 18. Registration is now open! Choose between six different routes ranging from 20 to 109 miles. Ride participants get one raffle entry, a post-ride meal, rest stops and marked routes, maps, full SAG support, and a goodie bag. You are encouraged to decorate your bike and wear spooky clothing!

Register for the ride through Eventbrite. Rad commemorative jerseys are available to order through Voler. Course information and maps are available on the Kern Wheelmen page.


Breast Cancer Ribbon

Sunday, October 26 at 9 AM

Bakersfield will have an opportunity to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Ride on Sunday, October 26, from Yokuts Park. Routes will head west towards Enos Lane, with turnaround options for shorter rides. A recommended minimum donation of $5 is for the ride, and donors who give $10 or more receive a Polar Breast Cancer water bottle. Meet at La Bicicleta Boutique for post-ride refreshments. All proceeds benefit the Breast Cancer Foundation, so any amount will help! More details available on the event flyer.

Full Moon Ride

Full Moon Bike Ride

Wednesday, October 08 at 7:00 PM

Join a casual group ride from Beach Park to the Marketplace at a pace of around 10-12 miles per hour. The ride out is organized and kept together as much as possible. Once at the Marketplace, riders enjoy the fountain and various shops, then head home or back to the park in smaller, unsupported groups.

Lights, helmets and locks recommended. (Lights and reflectors for all, and helmets for those under 18 are required by California Vehicle Code.)
